John wrote the date and location on just about every song. A cool discovery while working on the book -- look on pg. 100 at the song "Long White Road"; you'll notice that it was written "4-22-89 Rockford, Ill enr to Dubuque". Now look at the drawing at the front of chapter seven on pg 97; it's dated "4-23-89 Dubuque". The song and the drawing were in different parts of John's archive, but because of the dates, we were able to piece together a little bit of the puzzle of what was going on at the time.
